What motivated you to move abroad for work?
I decided to go abroad because I wanted better financial opportunities and life experience. The Netherlands offers stable jobs, a chance to see a new culture, improve language skills, and grow personally.
Can you describe your first day in the Netherlands?
The first day was a bit stressful because everything was new – the language, the people, the place to live. But the agency staff helped me settle in, and I quickly started to feel more confident.
What were the biggest challenges after your arrival?
The most difficult part was getting used to the language and the work pace. It was also hard at first to be away from my family, but it got easier over time.
How do you rate the working and living conditions in the Netherlands?
Conditions are good! Fixed schedule, on-time salary, and safe environment. The housing is also comfortable, although it’s a bit crowded if many people live together. Overall, it’s a big advantage.
What surprised you most about working through NL Jobs?
I was surprised by how well-organized everything is, from transportation to the work schedule. It was also nice that there is support in Ukrainian or Polish when needed.
Have you made new friends or met interesting people here?
Yes, I’ve met people from different countries – Poland, Romania, Latvia. It’s interesting to share experiences and spend time together after work.
What do you do in your free time? Any daily routines?
In my free time, I like to go for walks, listen to music or watch movies. Sometimes I cook something from home to feel a bit of home taste. I also try to call my family every day – that’s my little daily routine.
How is your accommodation? Are you happy with it?
I used to live in the accommodation provided by the agency. It was clean and comfortable, although I had to share it with other people (wasn't always so easy with the conditions). But now I live in my own place, and it’s much more comfortable – thanks to this job.
What skills have you gained from this job?
I've learned to adapt quickly to new environments and to organize and work under stress. I’ve also improved my teamwork with kids. Sense of responsibility, learned better time management and a stronger work ethic.
Would you recommend NL Jobs to others? Why?
Yes, I would recommend NL Jobs to others, because the agency gives real support, keeps its promises, and helps people adapt quickly to live and work in the Netherlands.
Do you plan to stay in the Netherlands long-term?
At the moment, I see my future here. I'm seriously considering staying in the Netherlands for a longer period.
What do you like most about your current location? (e.g., city, landscape, atmosphere)
I really like the peaceful atmosphere and cleanliness. It’s cozy, safe, and everything is near – nearby shops, transport, and nature. It’s a great place to live.
